Scientific Name: Embelica ribes

The seed of Babreng has medicinal qualities. It is along with other medicines in the treatment of arthritis, liver cirrhosis, heart diseases, wounds and phlegm. Children, who often are infected by tape worms, are found to have relief with the use of this herb.   Medicines constituting this plant are effective for diarrhoea, elephantiasis, dysentery, leprosy, fissure, headache, skin diseases and mouth ulcer.
