Location: Cultivated in shady moist mountain areas.

Cardamom is known as the queen of spices. It is the seed of this plant which is medicinal. Carbohydrates, protein, calcium phosphorous and iron are present in cardamom. It is a constituent in the medicine for indigestion and nausea. For heart problems caused by phlegm, urinary problems, diabetes, various gynaecological problems and diarrhoea, cardamom is found to be effective.
