Indian Barberry (Maramanjal)

Scientific Name:   Berberis asiatica

Location: Found in the mediterranean areas of the Himalayas and the Nilgiris

This herb is considered a cure for anaemia, inflammations, leprosy, diabetes, wounds, phlegm and poisons. Apart from this, this plant is effective for problems relating to the eyes, nose and mouth. In the treatment of diseases like jaundice, piles, diarrhoea and fever, Indian barberry has an important role and is also applied on the body for enhancing complexion.
