Scientific Name: Azadirachta indica

Location: Found all over India, often in the wilderness.

There is an old saying, 'The land where neem and nischinda abound, can death, disease, therein be found?' It is said that the leaves of this tree have the power even to demolish the germs and dirt in the air. They are used in the treatment of jaundice, eye diseases like Trichiasis, Conjunctivitis and night blindness. The leaves, ground with turmeric are applied on wounds to enhance healing. Other than this, neem leaves are used for dandruff, hair fall, skin disorders and dental problems. Hearing disorders, asthma, fever etc are also found to have relef with neem.
